Helen J. Palazola
1937-2018
Helen Virginia Johnson Palazola of Memphis, TN passed away on Monday January 15, 2018 with her husband by her side.
Born March 28, 1937 in Brownsville, TN, she was the daughter of the late Jim Aiken and Annie Pearl King Johnson.
As a child Helen enjoyed driving a tractor and being on the farm with her mom and dad. Helen was a momma’s girl growing up and always turned to her mom for advice and companionship.
Helen had numerous jobs but her most memorable was working at Baptist Hospital with the new born babies.
Helen married John Baptista Palazola on May 24, 1956. Helen enjoyed playing games in the huge backyard with the family, sightseeing on Sundays, walking in the woods and having family picnics. Helen always loved and cherished having dogs throughout her lifetime.
Survivors include her husband John Baptista Palazola, daughters Lisa Howard and Donna Smith, granddaughters LeAnne Howard, Kella and Kaylin Smith, and great-grand children Jazmyn Howard and Ethan and CheyAnne Sewell and a host of nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her son John Christopher Palazola, sister Annie Elizabeth Hamblin and brother Jimmie Rogers Johnson. In leiu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Memphis School of Preaching: msop.org.
Visitation will be held Thursday, January 18, 2018 from 12-2pm at Forest Hill Irene Church of Christ located at 3950 Forest Hill Irene Rd in Memphis, TN.
The funeral will be held on Thursday January 18 at 2pm at Forest Hill Church of Christ with burial at Forest Hill on Whitten Road.
