Obituary for James E. ""Zell"" Simpson

James E. ""Zell""  Simpson
James “Zell” Simpson, 83, passed away on February 14, 2017. He was born November 25, 1933 in Tipton County, Tennessee to the late Robert Lee and Lena Ammons Simpson. Zell was a loving husband, father grandfather and great-grandfather. He retired from Shelby County Road Department and was a member of Grimes Memorial United Methodist Church. Mr. Simpson is survived by his wife, of 44 years, Louise Simpson; sons, Derrell and Timothy Simpson; step-son, Howard Wiggins; five grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Jamie Jackett, two grandchildren and all of his older six siblings. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Friday, February 17 and service 10 a.m. Saturday, February 18 at Forest Hill Funeral Home & Memorial Park, East with interment following. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Grimes Memorial United Methodist Church.
