Obituary for Travis Wayne Lacy

Travis Wayne Lacy
Travis Wayne Lacy, 73, of Coldwater, MS passed away Sunday, August 20th at home
after a short battle with cancer. He was born April 23, 1944 in Lubbock, TX.

Travis was known as an amazingly kind and hard-working man. He had a fierce love for
his family and loyal to his friends. Camping and fishing trips with Travis are some of the
best memories his family has of him. He had a great sense of humor and was a prankster
till the end.

The Boy Scouts were a big part of his life for a long time. He loved leading and
mentoring all the boys that were in his troop over the years. He was a proud member of
the Masonic Lodge #599 and a Shriner.

Travis loved to meet and visit with people, whether he was at the flea market, casino or at
the lake fishing…even at his doctor appointments and at the hospital.
But of all the things he loved, the most important was his wife, Joyce Lacy. He loved her
beyond measure and she him.

Along with Joyce, Travis will be lovingly remembered by his son: Wayne Lacy (Janis) of
Southaven, MS; his daughters: Michelle St. Charles (David) and Sheri Duesterbeck
(Jim); his stepsons: Nick Krebs (Dinah) of Rapid City, SD and Steve Krebs (Lisa) of
Germantown, TN; his stepdaughters: Edie Mattern (Mike) of Aberdeen, SD and Laura
Huether of Minot, ND; his brother: Doug Lacy (Margie) of Southaven, MS; his sisters:
Debbie Forbes (Richard) of Fort Worth, TX, Tammy McCar (Tim) of Decatur, TX and
Donna Jones (David) of Fort Worth, TX; his uncle: Glenn Lacy of Fort Worth, TX; 25
grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and tons of other family members who will miss
him terribly.

Travis was predeceased by his first wife, Glenda Lacy of 31 years and his second wife,
Jurelean Lacy of 12 years; his parents: Sarah Ethel Paul Renfro and Donald Lacy; his
sisters: Gail Selmer, Lisa Weatherly and Teresa Harris; and his stepson: Scott Krebs.
Visitation will be Wednesday, August 23rd from 5pm to 7pm and the funeral will be
Thursday, August 24th at 2pm. Both will be held at Forest Hill South at 2545 E. Holmes
Rd., Memphis, TN.

There will be a reception following the funeral at Southaven First United Methodist
Church at 723 Star Landing Rd. E., Nesbit, MS.
