Obituary for
Clifton Edward McNair
Clifton Edward McNair, sixty-four (64) of Memphis, Tennessee, passed away on December 8, 2017, after a long battle with cancer. He was a graduate of Frayser High School Class of 1972. He was employed at Firestone Tire and Rubber and Bowden Construction. He is predeceased by his father and mother, Kenneth Kelly McNair, Sr., and Cara Mae Moore McNair. He is survived by his Brother, Kenneth McNair, Sister-in-Law, Marsha , Nieces & their husbands, Kris & Ronnie Smith, and Marshelle & Mike Garrison, Nephew and his wife, Lucas & Haley McNair, Great Nieces, Hayley & Taylor Garrison and Reagan Smith, and Great Nephews, Luke & Landen McNair and Blake Smith, as well as many loving Aunts, Uncles Cousins and lifelong friends.
Ed grew up in the 70’s. He loved Elvis, long hair and Rock n Roll. If you were a friend, you were a friend for life. Whether he was enjoying boating on the river, bonfires or cookouts with friends or Granny’s famous Sunday dinners with family, his participation was always done “his way”. Health issues took a toll on him as he aged, but that’s when his Mother became his priority. For the past fifteen years Ed was her primary caregiver, even during his cancer treatments. You could say, “in his old age (even though Ed never considered himself old) he was a compassionate guy.” In the words of his brother, “Ed was Ed!”
A special thank you to Dr. Michael Martin and the Staff at West Clinic, Methodist University Hospital and St. Francis Bartlett Hospital. In lieu of flowers please consider a monetary donation to West Clinic.
