Obituary for Lee Ottis Flanagan

Lee Ottis  Flanagan
Lee Ottis Flanagan, 80, went to be with his Lord on January 2, 2018 after a long battle with cancer. He was born in Pittsboro, MS on February 22, 1937. He was a 1955 graduate of Central High School in Memphis, TN. He retired from The Sherwin Williams Co. after 36 years in 1996. He worked for Werner Enterprises for 10 years prior to his illness. Lee was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Lee enjoyed crappie fishing, squirrel hunting, watching the Memphis Tigers and the Ole Miss Rebels play ball, wood crafting and visiting with his family and friends whom he loved very much.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Les Flanagan and Lois Bozeman, a brother, James Van Flanagan, and a grandson, Zachary Halbrook. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Ardell Flanagan, 3 children, Juanita Bremer (Dale) Jackson, MO, Eric Flanagan (Saundra) Millersville, MO, Lee W. Flanagan (Cindy) Gordonville, MO, 3 stepchildren, James R. West (Teresa) Atoka, TN, Candy Halbrook (Jerry) Brighton,TN, Wallace R. West (Lisa) Whiteville, TN, 7 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, a brother, Hardy Flanagan (Anita) Williston, TN and a host of other family and friends.

Visitation will be Friday, January 5, 2018, 5:00 p.m. -7:00 p.m. And Funeral services will be Saturday, January 6, 2018, 10:00 a.m. At Forest Hill Funeral Home East, Memphis, TN. Burial will be in Lawrence Memorial Cemetery in Walnut Ridge, AR.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Elliston Baptist Church, 4179 Elliston Ave., Memphis, TN 38111 or the the Cancer Research foundation.
